This is a tiny one-man travel blog, not a tour operator or booking agency, so most of the time you’re just reading stories for free. When money actually changes hands (very rarely), here’s exactly how I handle it.
What we currently sell
Right now the only paid items are occasional digital guidebooks or map packs that go deeper than the free articles. Everything is delivered instantly by email the moment the payment goes through. Because of that, they fall under “digital content delivered immediately” and are non-refundable once the file has been downloaded or the email opened.
The honesty clause
If something goes wrong on my end (you paid and the file never arrived, the link was broken, or I accidentally sent you a grocery list instead of the guide), write me within 30 days and I’ll fix it or refund you the same day, no questions asked. I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again because I hate technical glitches more than you do.
Subscription refunds
The newsletter is free. If I ever launch a paid membership (unlikely, but possible), any money paid for future months can be refunded pro-rata if you change your mind. Just send me an email and I’ll return the unused portion immediately.
How to request a refund
Send a quick message to [email protected] with your name, the email you used for the purchase, and what went wrong. I check mail myself, usually several times a day even when I’m on the road, so you’ll hear back fast. If you prefer, you can call +1 219-243-2873 and leave a voicemail; I’ll call you back.
Payment methods and chargebacks
Payments are processed through Stripe or PayPal. If for some reason I can’t solve the issue directly, you’re always protected by their buyer protection programs and can open a dispute there. I’ve never fought a legitimate chargeback and I never will.
Changes to this policy
If the site ever starts selling something different (physical postcards from the road, maybe a printed book one day), I’ll update this page and put a notice on the site. Until then, this is the whole deal.
Questions or something feel off? Reach out anytime to [email protected] or the address below. I’m easy to find and easier to talk to.
